Analyst Claims 1 Current NBA Star Has Had A Better Career Than Magic Johnson

Over the past couple of years, NBA fans have debated whether Stephen Curry has entered Magic Johnson’s territory.

Johnson has been widely considered the greatest point guard in the history of the game, and while he’s definitely a more traditional point guard than Curry, Steph has set the blueprint for the modern version of that position.

Recently, Curry fueled that debate by telling Gilbert Arenas that he honestly believes that he’s the best point guard of all time.

That’s why NBA analyst Jason McIntyre had to share his thoughts about it on The Volume, and he actually agreed with the Golden State Warriors star.

Per McIntyre, Magic wasn’t always the best player on his team during the Showtime Lakers era (via The Dunk Central).

He has a valid point, granted that Magic played with a plethora of talent.

But he was the best player on the team more often than not, considering the fact that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — as durable as he was — was also aging.

There’s a reason why it’s called the Bird vs. Magic era, so maybe that’s not the best argument he could’ve made.

Truth be told, Magic edges Curry in almost every major and minor stat, including NBA championships.

Even so, it’s hard to argue about Curry being the best point guard in modern basketball history, and it would be blasphemous to keep him out of the top-five of all-time, at least in that position.

Still, it’ll be hard to settle this debate, at least while he’s still doing his thing in the league.
