On Tuesday, the Chicago White Sox made some headlines when they announced that owner Jerry Reinsdorf had dismissed President Ken Williams and GM Rick Hahn.

The White Sox have endured a miserable season to date, posting a record of 49-77.

The team was expected to be a contender this year.

However, things changed early on, and the White Sox proved that this season was ultimately a lost cause.

The news of Williams and Hahn’s dismissals came just before their game against the Seattle Mariners, a game in which the White Sox lost, 6-3.

On Twitter, the team released a statement confirming the departures of Williams and Hahn.

The statement featured quotes from Reinsdorf, who expressed just how difficult of a decision this was for him to make, praising Williams and Hahn for their talents and even going as far as to say that Williams is like a son to him.

Reinsdorf also thanked Williams and Hahn for their contributions to the White Sox organization, citing the 2005 World Series championship as one of their major accomplishments.

The White Sox owner also expressed that baseball is a performance-based business and the results are a tell-tale sign of the way things have gone.

Now, the White Sox will begin their search for a new president and general manager.

Recently, former White Sox reliever Keynan Middleton, now with the New York Yankees, stated that while he was with the White Sox, leadership among the players was an issue.

Ultimately, this may have been what led to the dismissals.
