NFL preseason games are handled differently by coaches across the league.
Some teams elect to only play their backups, saving their starters for the regular season.
Other teams give their starters a taste of NFL action, hoping to get them back into game mode.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are slated to give their starters some work in their final preseason game, per Doug Pederson via Cameron Wolfe.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson plans to play QB Trevor Lawrence and starters 1.5-2 quarters in preseason finale vs. Dolphins Saturday. A dress rehearsal with goal of a clean operation.
Dolphins DC Vic Fangio: “Trevor Lawrence is a real dude. And he’ll be a real good test for us.”

Wolfe called this a “dress rehearsal” as Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the starters will get an opportunity.
Lawrence briefly appeared in the Jaguars’ first preseason game but didn’t see the field in game two.
The Jaguars took a giant step forward in the second year with Lawrence as their starter by making the playoffs.
His offseason development was on full display last year, showcasing his prospect profile was accurate.
Jaguars fans will be treated to at least a full quarter of preseason action for Lawrence, hoping to see more improvement than the prior year.
With the regular season slated to begin in two weeks, Lawrence and the Jaguars are nearly ready for action.
Whether they’ll be able to repeat as division champs remains to be seen, but the team seems up for the challenge.
They’ve added significant pieces during the offseason, hoping to fill any holes they might have on the roster.
Plus, Calvin Ridley can play this year, a veteran leader who should assist Lawrence as a dominant pass-catcher.
For an organization that has been previously plagued with mediocrity, Lawrence has arrived and provided plenty of hope for fans.
