The Seattle Seahawks are heading into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of improving upon their performance from last season and getting back into the NFL playoffs to make some noise in the NFC.
Along with veteran quarterback Geno Smith being back in the fold with a lucrative long-term deal, the Seahawks were able to add a valuable weapon to an already stacked receiving corps headlined by DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
Seattle brought in rookie wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to complement the two stars they already have at that position.
Unfortunately, Smith-Njigba recently went down with a wrist injury that required surgery, which will likely put his professional debut on hold until he can get healthy enough to get back on the field for Pete Carroll and company.
On Thursday, Carroll was asked about Smith-Njigba and when he might be able to return to action, via Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

As Carroll points out, the wrist surgery went great, so that’s one step in the right direction for the rookie wideout.
However, Carroll didn’t give an update as to when the Ohio State product might be able to start catching passes and be ready for the team.
Obviously, with Metcalf and Lockett, the Seahawks are good to go at the wide receiver position to start the season, but adding the rookie into the mix makes them a much more dynamic offense and a nightmare for opposing secondaries, so they hope he returns sooner rather than later.
