Last season showed us a lot about many of the lesser-known players in the NFL.

One player who came screaming onto the stage was the San Francisco 49ers‘ seventh-round pick, Brock Purdy.

He was never expected to see the field, until injuries to both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo.

Now, Purdy is looking like the long-term answer at quarterback for the franchise.

Leading the 49ers offense is no easy task, yet Purdy looked like a seasoned veteran doing so.

That is in large part why the 49ers have one of the top offenses headed into the 2023 season.

According to FOX Sports: NFL via NFL.com, the 49ers have the top offense in the NFL heading into the 2023 season.

Outside of Purdy at quarterback, the 49ers are loaded with skilled players.

At running back they have Christian McCaffrey, who is a do-it-all player.

Then, catching passes from Purdy they have Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle.

All of those players factor into the 49ers having one of the best offenses in the NFL.

But, to rank them over the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs seems outlandish.

Having Patrick Mahomes at quarterback gives the Chiefs an advantage over every team.

Even if their skill players are not as good as the 49ers’, their quarterback is substantially better.

San Francisco might have a great group of players around their quarterback.

But, the lack of experience from Purdy is what should hold them back from being the best offense in the league.
