Over the past couple of months, things were getting ugly between star running back Josh Jacobs and the Las Vegas Raiders, with the veteran back trying to secure his long-term future with the team and the franchise unwilling to do more than a one-year deal.

At one point, it looked like Jacobs was willing to sit out the entire 2023 NFL season to become a free agent next season and sign with another team.

Fortunately for the Raiders, Jacobs chose not to go that route and became content with inking a one-year deal with the team rather than signing his franchise tag, as he’ll now make upwards of $12 million instead of $10.1 million.

On Sunday, the Raiders took to Twitter to show the moment Jacobs returned to the team’s facility in Las Vegas to sign his new deal.

The return of Jacobs is a breath of fresh air for the Raiders, as he played a major role on the team last season by racking up over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 12 rushing touchdowns.

With Jacobs back in the fold in Las Vegas, the Raiders will have a stacked offense ready to go for the 2023 campaign, as the storied franchise now has an elite wide receiver in Davante Adams and an elite back at veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s disposal.

Although it remains to be seen how good this Raiders team can be during the upcoming season, Las Vegas might be able to surprise some people if the defense is indeed upgraded, as it seems to be during training camp and the preseason.
