Saquon Barkley’s well-documented feud with the New York Giants was one of the biggest storylines of the offseason.
The Giants placed him under the franchise tag and he refused to play under those circumstances, dragging that contract saga for months.
Eventually, the Penn State standout decided to bury the hatchet to sign a one-year deal with the organization.
Nonetheless, when asked about his plans for the future, Barkley told Paul Schwartz (via The Score) that his intentions about playing for the Giants for the remainder of his career haven’t changed at all.

Barkley claims that he needs to be mature about that situation and just focus on football for the time being.
There’s no denying that Barkley is one of the best running backs in the league when healthy, but he hasn’t been healthy as often as the Giants would love.
Moreover, running backs have become more or less expendable, considering the fact that they often fall from grace sooner than players from other positions.
The Giants are looking to build off last season’s momentum and playoff win.
Brian Daboll’s offense ran mostly through Barkley, and while they expect Daniel Jones to take another leap forward, the plan should be to feed Barkley as early and often as they can if they want to find success.
As for the future, they will look to figure things out and settle their beef throughout the course of the season.
