Dennis Allen Comments On Jimmy Graham’s Performance Against Texans

It seems like it was ages ago when people talked about Jimmy Graham as one of the best tight ends in the National Football League.

And while it could be a lot to ask for him to be the same player he used to be at this point in his career, it seems like a return to the Big Easy was just what he needed to get his career back on track.

The veteran tight end showed glimpses of his old self in the preseason finale vs. the Houston Texans.

He hauled in three receptions for 34 yards and one score, bullying his way into the end zone as he used to do in his prime.

That’s why Saints HC Dennis Allen wanted to give him his flowers and praise him after a job well done:

“It was nice to see Jimmy had a couple nice catches, contested catches,” Allen said, per ProFootballTalk.

Allen claims that it wasn’t much of a surprise to see him have a good game, as he had been very involved and active during practice as well.

Notably, Graham’s career took a downturn every year after leaving the Saints.

He had the worst numbers of his career with the Chicago Bears in 2021, and after not even playing last season, most people thought his days in the league were over.

Derek Carr has usually fed his tight ends early and often, and while he’s no longer the player he used to be, he proved that he’s still more than capable of manhandling his way into the endzone, so don’t be shocked if he has a very good year this season.
