The Seattle Mariners were once a team that did not strike fear into their opponents.
After all, they had one of the longest postseason droughts in sports history, not reaching October from 2002-21.
After over two decades, Seattle made the postseason in 2022.
They didn’t go far, but they’re bound and determined to improve upon that this year.
Seattle took sole possession of first place in the American League West on Sunday with their win over the Kansas City Royals.
Something special is brewing in the Pacific Northwest, and on Twitter, Jon Morosi of MLB Network took note of this upward trend the Mariners are on.
Seattle is one of the great sports towns in the country. Look at that crowd. Special story unfolding in the Pacific Northwest. @SeattleSports https://t.co/kJJBFBvw4O

Things are looking up for the Mariners.
That dreaded postseason drought is gone and now the Mariners look prepared to make it back to October for a second straight year.
They won 90 games last year and earned a Wild Card spot.
This year, they’re even better and currently are on top in the AL West.
It’s been since 2003 that they were alone in first place this late in the season.
The roster is full of talented stars such as Julio Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh, Eugenio Suarez, Logan Gilbert, Luis Castillo, and George Kirby.
It’s certainly been a long time coming, but the Mariners have quickly transformed themselves into a legitimate World Series contender.
The team is set to contend for its first World Series ring in franchise history this October.
It’s safe to say that Morosi’s hunch is correct and that there truly is something special brewing in Seattle that could last several years.
