The first three years of Jimmy Butler’s NBA career with the Chicago Bulls were forgettable, as he seemed like nothing more than an average player in the league without a bright future.
Fortunately, Butler started to turn things around in the 2014-15 NBA season, as he became a force to be reckoned with in Chicago and went on to make four straight All-Star appearances while putting the league on notice.
Fast forward to today, and Butler has established himself as one of the best two-way players in the game while being the undisputed leader of the Miami Heat franchise after short stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers.
Former NBA star Nate Robinson is taking credit for Butler being one of the best two-way players in the game today, as he says he lit a fire under him while they played together in Chicago.
Robinson said the following about Butler, via “Gil’s Arena.”
“I brought that dog out of him because he was only a defensive guy.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Butler responds to the comments made by Robinson, who doesn’t seem to have a problem with taking credit for the superstar’s emergence as one of the league’s elite two-way players.
Regardless of how Butler got to where he is in the NBA, the fact of the matter is he’s made quite a name for himself and seems to be in the running to win a title in Miami on an annual basis with two trips to the NBA Finals thus far since joining the Heat.
During the 2023-24 NBA season, Butler will hope to take the Heat a step further as the storied franchise attempts to win a fourth title in the team’s history.
