The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team on the rise in the NBA as they’ve got several young pieces on their roster that project to be stars.
The Thunder have a clear-cut superstar and franchise cornerstone in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander but he’s also got a great running mate in Josh Giddey.
Giddey, a former No. 6 overall pick, has the size, ballhandling, and playmaking ability that every team in the league covets and he has much more room to improve.
At 6’8″, Giddey does well to use his positional size to read the floor and either dish to teammates for good looks or take open shots in the paint himself.
Having a player like Giddey allows Oklahoma City’s offense to flow naturally as he’s got a real knack for moving the basketball where it needs to go.
However, like all young players entering the league Giddey has had his moments of being in awe and he admitted as such when he named Giannis Antetokounmpo as the player that had him starstruck via NBA.

It’s hard to blame Giddey for his initial reaction to seeing Antetokounmpo for the first time as the Milwaukee Bucks superstar is physically imposing and an athletic marvel.
Antetokoumpo can do things on the court that simply not a lot of humans can and it’s what’s made him one of the best players in the league over the past few years.
While Giddey might not be able to replicate some of the things that Antetokounmpo can do, he’s got his own bag of tricks that’s made him such an intriguing player so far.
