Regardless of how many times people have criticized or doubted the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid’s team always finds a way to silence the doubters.
They won the Super Bowl months after people claimed that Patrick Mahomes would be exposed without Tyreek Hill and that Travis Kelce would struggle as the undisputed No. 1 target.
This year, however, the Chiefs could have even less talent in their receiving corps, at least in terms of proven players.
That’s why former New York Giants star Victor Cruz believes that, as impactful as Kadarius Toney can be if he’s healthy, Mahomes will have to do a lot of heavy lifting to try and uplift some of their young players.
“When Kadarius Toney is out there & healthy, he’s great, he’s dynamic. … But this is a special year for Patrick Mahomes. He’s going to have to lift some of the younger guys up.”

Besides the aforementioned Toney, the Chiefs have Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore as the projected starters, with Rahsee Rice, Justyn Ross, Richie James, and Justin Watson as their backups.
Needless to say, that’s not exactly the most talented wideout room in the league, and even though they do have some youngsters with sky-high potential, they still need to prove themselves at the biggest stage and demonstrate that they can be healthy for a full season.
Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league, and it seems like he’s the kind of guy who knows he can make every single throw on the field.
So even if the Chiefs may not have the most stacked roster in the AFC, having him behind center will always give them a big chance to do something special.
