As per usual, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to make the most of every single chance they get to revamp their defense.

According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, they intend to sign Desmond King, who was recently cut by the Houston Texans.

Former #Texans CB Desmond King is expected to sign with the #Steelers 53-man roster, source said. A solid landing spot.

The veteran CB was a casualty of the 53-man roster cuts, but it didn’t take long before he found a new home.

The 28-year-old has made 95 appearances in his days in the league (53 starts).

Over that span, he’s logged three forced fumbles, 8.5 sacks, 33 pass deflections, two scores, and nine picks (five of those logged over the past couple of seasons).

Notably, King won’t have an easy time setting foot on the field, though.

He’s joining an already stacked cornerback room that features Joey Porter Jr., James Pierre, Levi Wallace, and Patrick Peterson.

Of course, the Steelers will have to cut a player from their current 53-man roster to make room for the former Texan, and the likeliest casualty will be one of their punters, as they kept two on their active roster before this announcement.

The Steelers are one of the biggest dark horses to make some noise out of the AFC next season.

Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the game, and their defense has been one of the finest in the league for quite a while now.

Also, with Kenny Pickett looking the part and ready to take a major leap in year two, it wouldn’t be shocking to see this team pull off several upsets this season.
