On Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals pulled off an important win, snapping a four-game skid with a late-inning rally to beat the San Diego Padres by a final score of 6-5.

Leading the way for St. Louis was catcher Willson Contreras, who hit two home runs, the second of which tied the score at five apiece.

In fact, Contreras had some special guests in the stands for Tuesday’s game, as his parents were in attendance.

On Twitter, the Cardinals posted a video featuring both of Contreras’ home runs, one of which was dedicated to his mother and the other of which was dedicated to his father.

Contreras is ultimately starting to come into his own as a Cardinal.

He joined the team on a five-year, $87.5 million contract, the largest such deal for a player who came from outside the organization.

But his 14th and 15th home runs of the year were a little extra special as the veteran catcher had two of his biggest supporters in the stands watching their son as he put together a truly remarkable night.

These moments were certainly special for the new Cardinals catcher.

The Cardinals would later win on Tommy Edman’s pinch-hit single in the bottom of the 10th, but without Contreras’ two homers, none of that would have been possible.

Contreras felt a little extra inspiration on Tuesday night with his parents watching him, and that gave him the push he needed to help guide the Cardinals to a key victory and end the losing skid.
