Arturas Karnisovas’ tenure in charge of the Chicago Bulls has been very disappointing.
He got the benefit of the doubt because of his track record, and his determination to make big deals as soon as he took over was definitely encouraging.
But regardless of all the trades and signings he’s made, the team continues to be stuck in the worst possible position; they’re not good enough to compete for a ring, nor bad enough to get a top-draft pick.
And with all the rumors about their current situation, Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic knows this could be a make-or-break season for their core.
Vucevic told Jake Fischer (via NBA Central) that they know they can do better, adding that they have to improve because they know this could be their last opportunity to make some noise together.
Nikola Vucevic admits this could be the Bulls’ last dance with this core
“We know we can do better, and we have to do better. And we know it’s kind of our last chance as this core of guys to do something.”

Zach LaVine has been tangled up in multiple trade rumors.
However, as good a scorer as he is, some doubt his ability to be a franchise player, making him slightly difficult to trade with that big contract of his.
Vucevic just signed a new deal.
He’s aging, not a good defender, and has regressed vastly since that first half-season in the Windy City, so he may not gauge that much trade interest.
That leaves DeMar DeRozan as their most tradeable asset right now, as he’s entering the final year of his deal and could be of big help to a contender.
The Bulls seem long overdue for a full-scale rebuild, and they could finally enter that stage next season.
