The Seattle Mariners have been playing some very good baseball as of late.

The team has surged to the top of the standings in the AL West and would be the second seed in the American League if the postseason began today.

So, as the team celebrated their recent hot stretch, reigning Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez had them dress up for a special occasion.

In fact, the team all dressed up in outfits to honor the famous New York City hip-hop group Run-DMC as they prepare to head to Queens to take on the New York Mets.

Manager Scott Servais caught wind of this and got connected with Joseph Simmons, who is known professionally as “Run.”

And Run gave the Mariners a nice shoutout for repping his squad, via Yahoo Sports MLB.

Run expressed his gratitude towards Rodriguez for having the Mariners dress up in these outfits.

He told Rodriguez and his teammates to “keep repping, keep rocking, keep rolling.”

Run also congratulated the Mariners on their recent hot streak, which has taken them to the top of the AL West.

Clearly, Run is proud of Rodriguez and the Mariners for playing such good baseball as of late, and he encouraged the team to stay hot and to keep up the good work.

This is certainly a fun way for the Mariners to build camaraderie late in the season.

And to make things even better, Run caught wind of what the Mariners were doing and expressed just how impressed he was with Rodriguez and his teammates for not only playing great baseball, but paying homage to the famous hip-hop group.
