The Carolina Panthers have added several pieces to their roster during the offseason.

Several offensive talents have been acquired in hopes of taking a massive step forward on that side of the ball.

This included drafting Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

While the offense has received a lot of praise for the work they’ve done, a Panthers player has reminded the public about their defense.

In a recent conversation with David Newton of ESPN, linebacker Justin Houston said, “A lot of people are sleeping on us.”

Houston believes the Panthers’ defense will be much better than the public perception of this unit.

The Panthers’ defense was middle of the road last season, allowing 22 points per game.

If they can improve upon those numbers, they’ll put Young in the best possible position to succeed with the offense.

The Panthers do have several stars on the defensive side of the ball, including Brian Burns, Shaq Thompson, and Jaycee Horn.

With these players in mind, it isn’t too difficult for fans to wrap their heads around this concept.

The Panthers finished the 2022 season with a 7-10 record, just one spot behind the division-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the division might be a bit tougher in 2023, the Panthers believe they have the players in place to make a splash.

They have been craving a massively successful season since the departure of Cam Newton.

Will both sides of the ball put everything together, resulting in an improved year for these Panthers?
