The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are going for a second straight world title and are hoping to go from a great team to a dynastic one.
However, doing so will not be the least bit easy.
They have some real concerns, beginning with the holdout of defensive lineman Chris Jones over a contract dispute that could prevent him from playing in multiple regular season games.
Then there is the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was Kansas City’s most productive wide receiver in 2022, and what now looks like a relatively weak and unproven wide receiver room.
But analyst Mina Kimes says that her biggest concern, other than perhaps Jones holding out, is the team’s offensive line.

The Chiefs lost Orlando Brown Jr., who is a bone fide star left tackle, this offseason, and to add insult to injury, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals, who are perhaps their biggest threat in the entire AFC.
Kimes mentioned Donovan Smith, who is Kansas City’s new starting left tackle, and the struggles he had while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as how quarterback Patrick Mahomes has struggled when he has had subpar pass protection.
Another potential pitfall for Kansas City will be the simple fact that the AFC is insanely loaded.
The New York Jets now have Aaron Rodgers and Dalvin Cook, and the Bengals seem primed for a run at the world championship, while the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Jacksonville Jaguars have all improved.
In Kansas City’s own division, the Los Angeles Chargers have plenty of talent, while the Denver Broncos are hoping to return to the playoffs with new head coach Sean Payton.
