The Phoenix Suns are all-in on winning a championship as evidenced by the moves they’ve made in the past year.

Under new owner Mat Ishbia, the Suns shocked the NBA when they traded Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, and a haul of draft picks for Kevin Durant at the trade deadline.

Phoenix also went after Bradley Beal in the summer, assembling a “Big 4” that would rival any roster on paper.

While Devin Booker is the clear leader of the team, Durant is the key to their title hopes as the former MVP is a mismatch for any defender whenever he’s on the floor.

Despite a few injuries that have slowed him down over the years, Durant remains one of the most lethal scorers in the league which is why the Suns are perceived to be one of the main threats to win a title this year.

Durant’s scoring prowess is well-documented but Jason Timpf of The Volume argues that he is even better than Michael Jordan.

In the video, Timpf explains that Durant is more efficient than Jordan as the latter took more shots to get to his 30-point-per-game average.

The Suns’ star has a natural advantage over Jordan as his size and length allow him to rise up and shoot over most defenders.

He also is much more proficient from the 3-point line, though the emphasis on outside shooting started well after Jordan’s time in the NBA.

Most basketball fans will consider a take like Timpf’s as sacrilegious but there’s definitely an argument to be had for Durant being a better scorer.
