Falcons WR Warns The NFL About Desmond Ridder

The Atlanta Falcons are projected to be among the worst teams in the league this season.

Outside of some playmakers in the offense, they don’t have that much talent to compete at the highest level, and they’ll likely rely on talent rather than consistency to move the chains.

There are some legitimate concerns about Desmond Ridder as an NFL quarterback, at least as a starter.

Scouts were on the fence about him when he was in college, and his first action in the league wasn’t exactly encouraging.

However, young star Drake London fully believes the Cincinnati product will prove a lot of people wrong next season, stating that he only got four games to showcase his skills and they know he’s capable of doing great things (Via Joe Patrick).

#Falcons WR Drake London on QB Desmond Ridder: “He only had four games last year. People didn’t really see all of Dez… Now they get to see him and get see what he does, so I think he’ll shut a lot of people up and silence those doubters for sure.”

Notably, London’s play will have a lot to do with the Falcons’ success — or lack thereof.

He’s one of the most talented young players in the league, and he could make his job quite easier with his ability to pile up yards after the catch and do damage on the open field.

The Falcons will need to get TE Kyle Pitts more involved in the passing game as well.

He’s one of the most impressive physical specimens in the league, yet he was used mostly as a blocker in his sophomore season after a very impressive rookie campaign.

Also, having Bijan Robinson in the backfield should help Ridder.

But barring a miracle it’s hard to envision the 2023 Atlanta Falcons as a playoff team.
