The New York Yankees have been one of the most disappointing teams in the MLB this season.

They were one of the preseason favorites to win the American League.

Instead, it looks like they are headed for last place in the AL East.

One of the many reasons they have struggled this season is due to injuries.

Aaron Judge has been on the injured list twice, which has derailed their season.

So the Yankees have decided to start the youth movement in the final month of the season.

They called up prospects Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells to make their MLB debuts.

But, Dominguez is the one that everyone in baseball has their eyes on.

Given the nickname “The Martian”, Dominguez has all the skills you look for in a superstar.

Also, he is only 20 years old.

In just four MLB games, Dominguez is already putting up impressive numbers.

According to Katie Sharp, Dominguez leads all Yankees in slugging percentage (.647) and is second in OPS (.882) on the year.

His sample size is not enough to qualify him among the leaders.

But, it does go to show that he has gotten off to a hot start.

Dominguez was playing in Double-A on August 20.

Now he is starting in the outfield for the Yankees.

They have not been shy to move him through the system quickly.

And by the look of things he will be one of their starting outfielders on Opening Day in 2024.

Dominguez entered the majors with lofty expectations, and he has lived up to them so far.
