The Charlotte Hornets may not exactly be one of the more storied franchises in the NBA, but they have had some standout players over the years.

During the 2000s, Baron Davis and Gerald Wallace were two of their best players, and they both helped Charlotte play competitive ball during that time.

Next season, per Rod Boone via NBACentral, the Hornets will honor both players for their contributions to the franchise.

Davis, a Los Angeles native, attended UCLA before the original Hornets (now the New Orleans Pelicans) drafted him at No. 3 overall in 1999.

The point guard played his first five-and-a-half seasons with the franchise, and during that time, he put up strong numbers in both the scoring and assists departments, which earned him two trips to the NBA All-Star Game in 2002 and 2004.

Thanks to Davis’ excellent play, the Hornets made the playoffs in each of his first three seasons with them.

He finished his 13-year career averaging 16.1 points and 7.2 assists a game.

Wallace, a 6-foot-7 forward, came straight from high school into the NBA during the 2001-02 season with the Sacramento Kings as the No. 25 pick in the draft.

He joined the Hornets (then known as the Charlotte Bobcats) for the 2004-05 campaign and ended up playing with them until midway through the 2010-11 season when he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Wallace’s best season with them came in 2009-10 when he averaged 18.2 points and 10.0 rebounds a game and earned an All-Star berth while helping the Bobcats reach the playoffs for the first time.
