The Washington Commanders just got a massive boost ahead of their Week 1 tilt vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, star WR Terry McLaurin has no injury designation in Friday’s injury report, meaning he’ll be fully ready to take the field on Sunday.

McLaurin suffered a toe injury during his team’s preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens on August 21, and even though there was always optimism about him being on the field for the season opener, the lack of updates was frustrating and worrisome.

The star wideout had been limited in practice, and his status was still in jeopardy, but he was able to go through full practices on Thursday and Friday without any sort of setbacks.

McLaurin was the Commanders’ best offensive player last season.

He paced his team in grabs and receiving yards in each of his first four seasons in the league, and he’s coming off hauling in 77 receptions for 1,191 yards and five touchdowns on 15.5 yards per reception last season.

He’s responsible for almost 30% of his team’s receiving yards since 2019, becoming one of the most reliable, efficient, and impactful pass-catchers in the league.

The Commanders will hope that McLaurin can have a similar season now that Sam Howell will be under center.

The expectation is that the Commanders will fare much better on offense this season, with Eric Bieniemy working his magic in the same way he did with the Kansas City Chiefs, and a lot of that will have to do with McLaurin’s impact.
