With Rajon Rondo’s NBA career seemingly coming to an end, the two-time NBA champion has started to reflect on his career, which began with the Boston Celtics back in 2006.

Along with talking about his favorite teammates like Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett and battles with Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals, the usually quiet Rondo opened up about quite a few things in his recent interview with J.J. Redick on The Old Man And The Three Podcast.

One topic of discussion was about Chris Paul and the comparisons between the legendary point guards.

Former teammate Trevor Ariza pointed out to Rondo that he and Paul are a lot alike, even though it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of love lost between the future Hall of Famers.

Redick admitted that before he became teammates with Paul on the Los Angeles Clippers, he “didn’t particularly care for him,” but that stance changed after playing with him.

Clearly, Rondo and Paul don’t get along and actually got into a fistfight on the basketball floor when the Lakers and Houston Rockets played in a season opener back in the 2018-19 NBA season.

Even though that went down five years ago, Redick said there’s always a chance they might become friends in the future, which got a laugh out of Rondo.

As Rondo seems to settle into retirement, if that’s what he plans to do, Paul is starting fresh with the Golden State Warriors to mend fences with Stephen Curry and company, with whom he also has a checkered past.
