On Sunday, there will be plenty of divisional matchups taking place, with a lot of rivalries around the NFL getting started once again in order to get the 2023 season underway.
One of those divisional rivalries is in the AFC West between two teams that have gone through some drastic changes over the last two years.
The Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders have new head coaches and new quarterbacks going back to the start of last season, and both storied franchises are looking to turn things around after the 2022 campaign was forgettable, to say the least.
One key matchup in this AFC West battle will be one of the best cornerbacks in the league, going up against one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
Patrick Surtain II and Davante Adams will be going head-to-head on Sunday in Denver, and the winner of this showdown might tilt the scales of the game.
The young corner recently talked about once again going up against Adams during the regular season via Around The NFL.

The last time these two stars went up against one another, Adams came out on top in a big way, as he finished with 141 yards and two touchdowns.
“It never waivered my confidence at all,” Surtain said. “I just moved on, stayed with the flow. You’ve got to correct it in the film room. You’ve got to move on to the next week. That’s how the NFL works.” Surtain said.
Surtain talked about needing to have a “short-term memory” when things like this happen and learn from the mistakes made on the field.
The Broncos corner will be looking for revenge on Sunday when they host the Raiders and might be able to get it if Adams can’t see eye-to-eye with new starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
