The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team on the rise in the NFL, with Trevor Lawrence and company defying the odds last season to clinch a playoff spot and take down the Los Angeles Chargers in spectacular fashion with an incredible come-from-behind win.
Even though the Jaguars ultimately lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, it could be argued they gave Patrick Mahomes and company their biggest challenge in the postseason last year, which is a promising sign of things to come in Jacksonville.
Along with heading into the 2023 NFL season with some confidence after an impressive 2022 campaign, the Jaguars will get a considerable boost in the passing game, with the team bringing in star wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who is anxious to get back to work.
Ridley missed the entire 2022 season due to a suspension, and he may have landed in the ideal situation with the Jaguars, as he’s ready to prove his worth even though admittedly nervous about his debut for Jacksonville via Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union.
“I’m gonna be ready. I’m ready now, but I’m gonna be calm. I got all that [nerves] out already” he said.

There’s no question that all eyes will be on Calvin Ridley Sunday as the #Jaguars get set to take on the Indianapolis Colts

During his time with the Atlanta Falcons, Ridley was part of a dynamic duo in the receiving corps along with superstar Julio Jones, as the two stars were a nightmare for opposing defenses.
Ridley’s best season with the Falcons came in 2020 when he caught 90 passes for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.
With Lawrence coming off a career year and ready to prove his worth to the Jaguars, Ridley could be in for a breakout season if he can become the quarterback’s favorite target downfield in 2023.
