After a stellar 2022 NFL season, resulting in a playoff berth and an upset win over the Minnesota Vikings in the postseason, the New York Giants hope to take the next step in 2023.
As the Giants try to take a step closer to becoming a title contender in the NFC, the storied franchise made the bold move during the NFL offseason to bring in Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller, acquiring him in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Although Waller had a rocky start to his NFL career as he battled substance abuse issues, he resurrected his career with the Raiders and became one of the best players at his position.
Now Waller will try to continue taking strides in the right direction with a fresh start in New York but recently landed on the team’s injury report, putting his debut with the team against the Dallas Cowboys in doubt.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Waller is good to go for today’s game and will play against the Cowboys.
#Giants TE Darren Waller, who popped up on the injury report late this week with a hamstring, is expected to play today, per me and @MikeGarafolo.

At first, it seemed as though his injury problems while with Las Vegas had followed him to New York, as he had played in only 20 games over the past two seasons since earning his first Pro Bowl selection in 2020.
Fortunately, Waller will be able to start the season on the field, which will give the Giants a much-needed advantage at the tight end position, as they’ll be going up against superstar linebacker Micah Parsons and arguably the best defense in the NFL.
