The excitement is palpable for the New York Jets.

For the first time in a long time, they are considered to be a Super Bowl contender.

The Jets swung for the fences in the offseason when they landed Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade from the Green Bay Packers, signaling the organization felt like they were a legitimate quarterback away from competing.

With Rodgers under center, New York’s offense is expected to take a leap and they’ll get a chance to show off what it can do when they take on their AFC East divisional rivals the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

Aside from the offense, the defense is also projected to be one of the best units in the league as they feature young stars in Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.

The collection of talent is impressive and on paper looks like it can stack up against any team in the league right now.

In fact, people like Rex Ryan had no problem making a bold statement about the state of the Jets roster via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“This is the most talented roster the Jets have ever had — ever had,” Ryan claimed.

The former New York head coach has seen his fair share of rosters over the years, so it can be a little surprising to hear him make such a comment before the team has even played.

The Jets have one Super Bowl in their franchise’s history, but there’s an argument to be made that this version of the team has the potential to make Ryan’s words true.
