The Cleveland Browns started off the season on a very high note, completely dominating the Cincinnati Bengals on both ends of the field.
Despite all the trash-talking, star wideout Ja’Marr Chase was a non-factor in the loss, hauling in just five receptions on nine targets for a team-high 39 yards.
Chase had taken a big shot at the Browns before the game, stating that he ‘almost called them the Elves.’
And even despite the loss, he doubled down on those comments after the game, ripping his own team for ‘losing to some Elves’ (via Olivia Ray and Ari Meirov).

At least, you have to respect Chase for not backing down, but maybe he should’ve chosen his words wisely.
The Browns have owned the Bengals during the Kevin Stefanski era, and Sunday’s win was perhaps the most dominant outing they’ve had in quite a while.
Granted that Joe Burrow missed the entirety of the preseason with a calf injury, but the Browns’ pass rush was chasing him all day long.
Myles Garrett continued his dominance over him, and this new-look defense looks like a force to be reckoned with.
Burrow had arguably the worst performance of his career, completing just 14 of 31 passes for no touchdowns, putting an end to a streak of 23 games with at least one score.
Deshaun Watson showed glimpses of his former self, throwing for 154 yards with one touchdown and one pick, and rushing for 45 yards and another score.
The Bengals now have the Baltimore Ravens on deck, and Chase might want to stay silent until after the game.
