Which NBA stars will be playing for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics?

That is a question that many people are asking right now, especially since the team just suffered another painful defeat in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Who will return for Paris and who will sit out?

According to Shams Charania, Desmond Bane of the Memphis Grizzlies remains “a possibility” for Team USA next summer, via NBACentral.

The inclusion of Bane would make tons of sense.

In 2022-23, Bane averaged 21.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists on 47.9% from the field and 40.8% from the three-point line.

This led to him securing a massive contract extension in the summer.

Bane signed on the dotted line for five years and $207 million, which means he will be part of the Grizzlies for a long time.

Bane is definitely the type of player Team USA would be happy to have.

But his inclusion in next year’s games isn’t guaranteed.

There is likely to be a lot of handwringing within Team USA over the next year.

No one is happy with how things turned out in the World Cup, especially after they got off to such a strong and impressive start.

Losing in the World Cup is embarrassing but falling in the Olympics would be even worse for the team.

They have won the gold medal in the last four games and they are going to do whatever they must to ensure victory again.

If Bane does make the national team for 2024, who will he play with?

Will others from the World Cup such as Austin Reaves, Anthony Edwards, and Paolo Banchero be on the roster too?

Or will Team USA break it all down and start from scratch so they can win gold?
