The New York Jets got Aaron Rodgers at a very reasonable price, all things considered.
They managed to hold onto their young stars and didn’t have to give up a lot of valuable assets to get him to the Big Apple.
Ironically, the injury he suffered early in his debut could end up being a blessing in disguise for the organization, but not so much for the Green Bay Packers.
According to NFL insider Michael Lombardi, the Packers would only get a first-round pick from the Jets if Rodgers played at least 70% of the snaps this season.
Packers are affected by this injury too. Need 70% play time to get that first rounder.

Needless to say, that’s not going to happen if Rodgers has, indeed, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.
Of course, the Jets would much rather have their future Hall of Famer on the field than a first-round pick, but this is the only silver lining they could have at this moment.
Rodgers couldn’t even finish a drive with his new team.
The footage makes it seem like he popped his Achilles, and he’ll undergo more testing today after X-rays were negative on Monday night.
This was a major blow to the Jets’ Super Bowl aspirations and for the league as a whole.
Also, we cannot ignore the fact that Rodgers is 39 years old already, and not many athletes are able to come back from that kind of injury in top form, let alone at that age.
We’ll have to wait for official confirmation or updates, but things don’t look good at all right now.
