The Los Angeles Dodgers show each season how consistently great they are.

Even after a slow start to the year, the Dodgers find themselves miles ahead of every other team in the NL West.

Also, they have the second-best record in the National League at 87-56.

This team is set for the second seed in the NL and a first-round bye.

One of the main reasons for their success has been the breakout season of leadoff hitter Mookie Betts.

Betts has always been viewed as one of the best players in baseball, but he has taken his game to a new level this year.

He has hit a career-high 39 home runs to go along with a league-leading 1.022 OPS and 171 OPS+.

Also, Betts has been doing all of his damage from the leadoff spot in the lineup.

According to Sarah Langs, Betts has the most RBI from the leadoff spot in a single season in MLB history.

most RBI out of leadoff spot in a season (RBI official since 1920):

2023 Mookie Betts: 103
2017 Charlie Blackmon: 103
2000 Darin Erstad: 100

Having a lineup as strong as the Dodgers gives Betts plenty of RBI opportunities.

But, his first at-bat of each game comes with no one on base.

It is looking like the NL MVP race will come down to Ronald Acuna Jr. and Betts.

Both are leadoff hitters and well deserving of the honor.

With the seasons they are having it is a shame that only one can win.

Just under three weeks are remaining in the MLB season.

Betts will continue to add to his recording-breaking year as he helps the Dodgers get ready for the playoffs.
