When the New York Jets made a blockbuster move to trade for Aaron Rodgers, they showed the NFL they were serious about competing during the 2023 NFL season.
The Jets have managed to accumulate great young talent on both sides of the field and Rodgers figured to be the last remaining piece the roster needed to truly compete for a Super Bowl.
The excitement for fans was palpable on Monday Night Football when Rodgers took the field for the first time for New York, but that quickly went away when the quarterback was helped off the field with an injury.
Things got worse when the team announced that Rodgers suffered a ruptured Achilles and would miss the remainder of the season.
It’s a devastating turn of events for the Jets organization as they’ll now have to find a way to get through the rest of the regular season without Rodgers.
However, analysts like Craig Carton believe that Rodgers simply being around can benefit the team going forward via The Carton Show.
“Aaron Rodgers’ presence has changed who the New York Jets are in their DNA,” Carton said.

Carton goes on to explain that Rodgers can continue helping the team by showing up to games and being engaged on the sidelines.
It might be tough for Rodgers to be around the game for a while given the nature of the injury, but there’s no doubt he can still play an important role.
For now, Jets fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery.
