The New York Jets lost their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, and that brought them all the way back to where they were last year.

Zach Wilson will take the reins for Robert Saleh’s team, and while he made it loud and clear that this wasn’t a competition under any circumstances, we all know that can change if he’s not any better than he was last season.

That’s why people are keeping tabs on the Jets’ backup quarterback situation, as it could be a matter of time before whoever they sign takes over the QB1 spot.

With that in mind, Skip Bayless talked about the possibility of Colin Kaepernick making a comeback, as he and his agent reportedly reached out to the Jets looking for another chance.

Report: Colin Kaepernick’s agent reached out to the Jets:

“Do I think the Jets are going to take a shot on Colin? I don’t. But do I think he can still play right here, right now?! Absolutely I do!” — @RealSkipBayless pic.twitter.com/rsGhm7y5FS

Bayless raved about how Kaepernick was one play away from winning the Super Bowl after taking over midseason, stating that he was a very good quarterback for a very long time before his team started falling apart around him.

He also made it clear that the only reason why he never got another opportunity wasn’t even because of his political activism but because of the fact that he actually sued the league for collusion, and there’s simply no coming back from that.

The controversial pundit added that, even though he doesn’t believe the Jets will ever give him a chance, he could still play in this league if given enough time, OTAs, and practices to get back to full shape.
