When the Philadelphia Phillies agreed to sign Trea Turner, they were hoping to add another MVP-caliber player next to Bryce Harper.
The start of his Phillies career could not have gone worse.
In the first half of the season, Turner batted .247 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI.
He also had an OPS of under .700.
But, after the All-Star break, Turner has been a completely different player.
He is hitting .313 with 16 home runs and 43 RBI.
Also, he has an OPS of .986.
He looks much more confident in his surroundings and is playing like the star we have all come to know.
Over the last 40 days, there has not been a player slugging the ball better than Turner.
According to Codify, Turner has a .820 slugging percentage over the last 40 days.

Turner has helped lead the Phillies to the top spot in the NL Wild Card race.
He is playing like the player the Phillies hoped they were getting.
On the season, Turner is batting .272 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI, and 27 stolen bases.
All in all, he is putting together a strong first season in Philadelphia.
It will be fun to see this Phillies team enter the playoffs.
Last year they went from the third and final Wild Card spot to the World Series.
The Phillies will need to make a similar run again this year.
It is not always the best teams that make the Fall Classic.
Instead, the teams that are the hottest in October can make a run.
For the Phillies to make another deep playoff run, they will need Turner to be elite.
