The 2023 Nike World Basketball Festival is currently taking place in New York City and some major NBA icons are making appearances.
Photos shared by the league showed Scottie Pippen and Jason Kidd sitting courtside for the very special event.
For these two, it was a great way to see impressive and promising talent that could be in the league in the next few years.

The World Basketball Festival is a two-day tournament that features 40 boys and 40 girls from 23 states and three countries.
The championship game of the festival will be broadcast on the NBA’s YouTube channel.
The World Basketball Festival is actually the culmination of multiple other tournaments held throughout the country this summer.
Cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and others held smaller events in the lead-up to this one.
For the young players in the tournament, they are given the chance to show what they can do in front of NBA figures who might help them have a career in the league someday.
It’s just one of the many ways that teen players try to find a way into the NBA.
Pippen’s appearance at the festival is just part of his retirement.
Even though he no longer plays, he is still a big fan of the league and the game.
He has made numerous appearances like this.
As for Kidd, it comes as his summer is starting to wind down.
He will be having training camp with his Dallas Mavericks soon.
They are attempting to come back stronger after a disappointing previous season.
So, while Kidd is definitely enjoying what he sees at the festival, his mind is also on practicing, coaching, and the season ahead.
