Insider Notes That Aaron Rodgers Could Return This Season

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently underwent successful surgery on his injured Achilles tendon.

He will not start the long rehabilitation process as Zach Wilson will take over the Jets.

However, senior NFL writer Albert Breer started the idea that Rodgers’ could return this season after citing another player who recovered quicker than expected.

“Just as a point of reference on the possibility Aaron Rodgers could return from a torn Achilles this season—Cam Akers tore his Achilles in mid-July 2021 and returned Jan. 9, 2022, less than six months later. Was seen as miraculous. The Super Bowl is less than 5 months from now,” Breer expressed.

Will Aaron Rodgers have the same recovery period as Akers?

Breer failed to point out that Rodgers will turn 40 on December 2, while Akers is 24.

But in his recent interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers shared that anything is possible regarding his recovery timeline.

Pat McAfee: “Are you coming back for the playoffs this year?”

Aaron Rodgers: “I’m not gonna make any of those statements. I don’t feel like that’s fair to myself… As Kevin Garnett said, ‘Anything is possible!'”

He also said that his critics and naysayers will fuel him during rehab.

While Rodgers looked calm during his interview with McAfee, he was initially distraught by his Achilles injury.

He was also apologetic to his fellow Jets after he was declared out of action.

If he miraculously returns to action after the Jets have clinched a playoff spot, could we see him in the playoffs?
