After starting the 2023 NFL season with two consecutive losses to divisional opponents, the Cincinnati Bengals seem to be in trouble and in danger of letting this year get out of hand in terms of living up to expectations as legitimate title contenders in the AFC.

Obviously, the primary concern for the Bengals moving forward is the health of superstar quarterback Joe Burrow, who signed a massive contract extension right before the season began.

Burrow is again dealing with a calf strain after last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which will impact his playing status for Week 3 when the team plays host to the Los Angeles Rams.

Even when Burrow has been healthy over the last two games, he hasn’t played well, as he started the year with a career-low 82 passing yards against the Cleveland Browns.

With the Bengals headed in the wrong direction and struggling where they should be thriving, star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has chimed in on what he thinks the team should do offensively to turn things around, via Cincinnati.com and JPAFootball.

It’s not all that surprising that one of the league’s best wide receivers would request the team throw the deep ball more often, as it benefits him as well as the team.

The team’s ability to take more shots downfield definitely depends on Burrow’s health, as he’s one of the best in the NFL in connecting with his receivers, so Chase may have to wait to see whether his close friend and quarterback can get back on track in Week 3.
