Former NFL superstar and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has taken college football by storm as he’s taken over as the head coach of the University of Colorado and has already had some major success with three straight wins to start the 2023 season.
Along with Sanders defying the odds and proving a lot of people wrong in the early going of his coaching career in Colorado, he’s been getting a lot of buzz off the field what what he’s been able to do thus far.
An interesting comparison was made by Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal recently when he compared Sanders to former Chicago Bulls and Lakers head coach Phil Jackson.
O’Neal sees the same calmness in Sanders that he saw in Jackson, as he doesn’t panic when down big in an important game.
Rachel Nichols of FOX Sports commented on the comparison on Undisputed, as she added Michael Jordan into the equation.

With Sanders only three games into his coaching career at the University of Colorado, it’s very early to compare him to arguably the greatest NBA head coach of all time.
The hype train is full speed ahead in Boulder, Colorado, with Sanders getting praise from all directions, but the real test will be when the chips are down for the 56-year-old and not when he’s flying high with no one criticizing him.
Sanders has a long way to go to prove himself as one of the best head coaches in college football, even though he’s already off to a good start.
