Fans of the Brooklyn Nets are hoping for a positive and promising 2023-24 season.

A lot has changed for the team over the last few months, with the departure of its two biggest stars and the addition of many up-and-comers.

But one player has remained: Ben Simmons.

Spencer Dinwiddie was on the “Pat Bev Podcast” and mentioned Simmons.

Dinwiddie said that he wasn’t sure what the ceiling for the Nets was in the new season but did confirm that Simmons is currently healthy.

That could help them out in a big way – if he plays as he used to years ago.

Last season was not a good one for Simmons.

The former number-one draft pick averaged just 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.

But worse than that was the fact that he only played in 42 games, losing time on the court because of an apparent knee injury.

Even before Simmons hung up his jersey for the season, there were many questioning what was wrong with him.

He wasn’t playing with the same speed or skill that fans had grown used to during his first few years with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He appeared to be second-guessing himself, unsure of what to do, and lacking drive in multiple ways.

There were many people who said his head wasn’t in the game and that he was lacking confidence.

Simmons claimed it was all because of his injuries, which are apparently fixed now.

That means that 2023-24 should be the season when Simmons redeems himself and reminds fans what he is capable of.

Yet, some people doubt that will happen.
