On Wednesday, the Portland Trail Blazers agreed to send seven-time All-Star guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team trade, which finally resolved the saga surrounding him and his trade demand earlier this summer.
But there is still one loose end to be resolved: Jrue Holiday, the veteran two-way guard whom the Bucks gave up in order to land Lillard.
Holiday will be headed to Portland in the trade, and Portland is reportedly looking to flip him, with several teams already reportedly interested in him.
Chris Broussard said on “First Things First” that he would like to see Holiday get sent to the Boston Celtics and that he could even make them the favorites over Milwaukee to win the NBA championship.
“I’d like to see Jrue Holiday go to Boston. If he goes there [for the right package] they might move ahead of the Bucks as the favorite.”

The Celtics have already made major changes this summer, getting rid of former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart and 3-and-D reserve Grant Williams while bringing in the ultra-skilled but injury-prone center Kristaps Porzingis.
Holiday, as Broussard pointed out, would make up for the defense Boston has lost with Smart’s departure, while he would also give them a facilitator and scorer at the point guard position, which would come in handy in crunch time.
The problem for Boston is that Holiday has a big contract, and getting him would likely come at a steep price.
That price would likely include reigning Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, and such a package would leave the Celtics with a weak bench.
They already have a questionable bench after the moves they have made, but at least the potential acquisition of Holiday would give them a great starting five that could be on par with Milwaukee’s new starting five.
