The Los Angeles Lakers knocked on the door of the NBA Finals last season, but the Denver Nuggets were just too much to handle.

Even so, despite not being able to take one game from them, the Lakers were close in all four losses in the Western Conference Finals.

The team got slightly better with their offseason moves, while the Nuggets lost a key piece in Bruce Brown Jr., so they feel good about their chances of getting back at them next season.

Needless to say, plenty of that will have to do with LeBron James and how his body holds up after another season.

That’s why the fans must be thrilled to know that, according to GM Rob Pelinka, James has been getting ready for season No. 21 as intensely as if he were a rookie (via Swish Culture and Hoop Central).

“Lebron is preparing for season 21 like he’s a rookie. He’s been doing 6 am workouts & has been in our building as much as any player this offseason.”

LeBron has reportedly been in the gym as much as their young players, and he’s having multiple workouts a day.

Of course, James’ work ethic and determination to be in top shape have never been put into question.

There’s no wonder why he’s been able to dominate for so long in this league.

Even if he’s a privileged athlete with gifted physical traits, James has often gone the extra mile to preserve his health.

The Lakers will need to find a way to keep him fresh for the playoffs, as he looked exhausted last season, and maybe they’ll have to give him some days off during the regular season.
