The Philadelphia Phillies have clinched everything they can heading into October.
They are going to be the first seed in the NL Wild Card standings.
This means they get to host the second seed in a three-game series.
Even though these last few games do not mean much for the Phillies, they still want to play well.
On Thursday, sparks were flying after Bryce Harper got called out on a horrendous check swing.
It was often criticized umpire Angel Hernandez who made the call and Harper had plenty to say about it.
As shared by Talkin’ Baseball, Harper lost it on Hernandez about calling him out.

As many can tell the call was not even close.
There was no chance that Harper swung.
But, Hernandez has been seen as the worst umpire in baseball for a while.
Many other teams and players have criticized him in the past for some poor calls he has made.
Harper has been dealing with Hernandez for years and he finally lost it.
After the game, Harper talked about the situation from his perspective.
According to NBC Sports Philadelphia, Harper said, “I’m gonna get fined for being right, again.”

At some point, MLB will have to do something about Hernandez.
Each year he is the most talked about umpire and none of it is for good reasons.
As the games get more important, the umpires have more pressure on their plate.
Every call matters and Hernandez should not be on the field come playoff time.
