With an offseason to refocus themselves, the Dallas Mavericks will be looking to show the NBA that the 2022-23 season wasn’t indicative of their talent and play.
The Mavericks were coming off a Western Conference Finals appearance and looked like they could take the next step last year, but instead largely disappointed.
Luka Doncic remained one of the best overall players in the league, but the lack of talent and defense plunged Dallas toward the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Even a midseason trade for Kyrie Irving didn’t salvage the Mavericks’ playoff hopes as he and Doncic were unable to realize their potential on the floor.
However, this year figures to be different as Doncic has been hard at work preparing himself for the 2023-24 NBA campaign.
Recently, Doncic was seen on video toying with assistant coach Darrell Armstrong and dropped him to the ground with a nasty crossover via MFFL.

In the video, Doncic is seen driving hard to the right before stopping on a dime and crossing the ball back over to his left hand and Armstrong hits the floor and slides.
Armstong isn’t the first person to fall down while trying to guard the Slovenian superstar, but it doesn’t make it any less embarrassing.
The Dallas assistant coach is a former player himself and knows what it’s like to try and defend stars, but even he has to admit that Doncic got him good on that rep.
With a few weeks to go until Opening Night, the Mavericks need to hope that Doncic is able to get himself ready to hit the ground running.
