Getting drafted into the NBA is only the beginning for a basketball player.

The true journey starts after that as they try to find their role in the league.

Some players end up becoming superstars, while others have to settle with the fact that they will never be more than a supporting player.

But it’s upon a player to make the most out of it, as Jamal Crawford did by becoming one of the greatest sixth men to ever play in the league.

On that note, Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd recently claimed that Crawford has done enough to be a first-ballot Basketball Hall of Famer, and Crawford reacted to those comments via his official Twitter handle.

“Wow… One of the greats. Humbled,” he tweeted.

Wow…
One of the greats.

Kidd claimed that Crawford had done enough to have the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award named after him.

Well, Kidd is not wrong there, as Crawford is regarded as one of the most iconic bench players and even won the Sixth Man of the Year award three times in his career.

But does Crawford deserve to be a Hall of Famer? That’s up for debate.

Crawford averaged 14.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game during his 20-year career in the NBA.

However, outside of being a phenomenal sixth man, Crawford didn’t win anything else.

Sure, he popularized crossover moves as well, but is that truly enough to be a first ballot Hall of Famer?

Crawford could be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it may not be on the first-ballot.
