Entering a home matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, most expected the Philadelphia Eagles to remain undefeated and improve their record to 4-0 with a convincing victory.
In the end, the Eagles did end up getting a win over the Commanders, however, Philadelphia needed overtime in order to secure their victory.
The Eagles weren’t at their best on Sunday, but Philadelphia wide receiver A.J. Brown stated after the win that he doesn’t want the team to be playing their best football of the season in October.
“We’re still putting it together. Nobody wants to be playing their best football right now. But we’re still striving each and every day to fix the little things and head in the right direction. We want to play good, don’t get me wrong. We want to play really well. But we don’t want to play our best football right now in October.” Brown said.

Sunday’s contest between the Commanders and Eagles was one of the most exciting games on the entire Week 4 slate.
At one point in the second quarter, Washington was leading by a score of 17-7, and Philadelphia’s unblemished record seemed like it was in legitimate jeopardy.
But thanks in part to Brown catching nine passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns, the Eagles were able to escape Sunday’s matchup against the NFC East rival with a win.
With the victory, Philadelphia has now started a season with a 4-0 record for the second year in a row, as they began the 2022 campaign by winning each of the first eight games on their schedule.
The Eagles’ next two matchups have them on the road to facing the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5 and the New York Jets in Week 6.
There’s a chance that Philadelphia could lose at least one of their next two games, but it seems like there’s a better chance that they will start the season with a 6-0 record.
If this ends up happening, then the Eagles will take their 6-0 record into a Week 7 matchup against a very talented Miami Dolphins team.
