The New England Patriots fell to the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 4 matchup, bringing their season record to 1-3.

While this loss might have exposed a few holes within the Patriots’ roster, it also featured a potentially massive injury to one of their top players.

According to Ian Rapoport, Matthew Judon got injured during this contest and is being evaluated for a biceps injury.

#Patriots pass-rusher Matthew Judon is being evaluated for a biceps tendon injury, source says. He’s getting an MRI to determine the severity. Either way, he’s expected to miss some time.

Judon is one of the Patriots’ top defenders.

Depending on the severity of his injury, this could be an even greater hill for the Patriots to climb.

Rapoport might not have given a timetable for Judon to return, but he will likely miss at least a few games.

What is the potential impact of Judon’s absence?

The Patriots’ next three games are against the New Orleans Saints, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Buffalo Bills.

While the Patriots have struggled this year, so have the Saints and Raiders.

These are likely seen as ‘winnable’ games for the Patriots and could find themselves at .500 if they make a few changes in the meantime.

However, facing off against the Bills is no small task, and they seem to be improving by the week.

If Judon is back for the Bills game, he could make an instant impact back on the defense, propelling them for the rest of the season.

Of course, if the Patriots lose either game before their matchup with the Bills, their season could be effectively over before their bye week.

How long Judon is out could be a determining factor for their season’s fate.
