Jimmy Butler’s tenure with the Miami Heat has kind of salvaged his reputation.
He didn’t leave the Chicago Bulls on good terms, with several teammates stating that he and Dwyane Wade isolated themselves from the rest of the group.
However, his most complicated tenure undeniably came with the Minnesota Timberwolves, so it is no surprise to see that he has no love for them.
Referring to his NBA career thus far during his media day, Butler talked about his “Chicago days, skip a team, the Philly days, and now Miami” (via Jeremy Tache and NBACentral).

Butler reportedly didn’t have a good relationship with franchise star Karl-Anthony Towns, who he considered to be soft and non-competitive.
There were several reports of non-basketball-related incidents between the two as well, not to mention the infamous scrimmage in which Butler dominated and destroyed the starters with third-stringers and G League players, letting the front office know that they couldn’t win without him.
At the end of the day, time proved he was right.
They failed to make the playoffs without him or with Towns as the alpha dog, and they needed Anthony Edwards to get back to the promised land.
As for Butler, he had a nice, albeit brief, tenure in Philadelphia with the Sixers before signing with the Heat.
He drew mockery and criticism for joining a seemingly non-competitive franchise, and he took them to the NBA Finals twice in four years.
No wonder why some fans still have no love for him in Minnesota.
