Anthony Davis is ready to give his all to the Los Angeles Lakers again.

Davis spoke to the press during Monday’s Media Day and talked about his thankfulness to the franchise and his love of the team, via Legion Hoops on Twitter.

“I’m thankful for the Lakers to commit to me. I owe it to them to put my body on the line every night…. Hopefully I’ll be in those MVP conversations. Helping the guys out, not leaving it all on LeBron.”

The Lakers have definitely committed to Davis in a very big way.

Over the summer, they gave him a new contract extension, confirming that they still see him as a valuable part of the team.

When Davis joined the Lakers years ago, he was talked about as the future of the franchise.

It is clear that the Lakers still feel that way.

Davis mentioned that he wants to put his body on the line for LA but fans are hoping he is cautious with that approach.

Even though the Lakers have a slew of great players on the roster, there is a direct correlation between Davis’ health and the team’s success.

Last season, he played his most games in years and looked very healthy most of the time.

Unsurprisingly, the Lakers made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.

Davis will have to be careful that he doesn’t push himself too hard because the team desperately doesn’t want him to miss more games in 2023-24.

If he plays for the whole season and looks as he did last year, there is a good chance that he will be in MVP conversations just as he wishes.
