Derrick Rose is now a member of the Memphis Grizzlies and he is committed to helping them win.
He is also committed to doing his job and not making life harder for anyone else.
Speaking with the media, per HoopsHype, Rose commented on his new position within the team.
“I’m not here to babysit, micromanage or anything. I’m not here to be a plant, a plant in the locker room, any of that. I’m here to help guys win,” Rose said.
Adding that he isn’t going to “steal minutes” from anyone, Rose said, “I’m here to show that I still have a lot left in the tank.”

For the last few years, Rose has been mostly laying low.
He spent the last several seasons playing for the Detroit Pistons and then the New York Knicks, where he averaged 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists over an average of just 21.9 minutes during 103 games.
After 14 years in the league, it is clear that the former MVP isn’t as physically capable as he once was.
When he was signed to the Grizzlies, many people assumed that he was going to act as a player-coach for the young, up-and-coming team.
Fans envisioned a scenario where Rose would inspire and teach the youthful squad.
They especially saw him growing close with Ja Morant, a talented guard who continually makes bad choices off the court.
Rose could perhaps keep him on the right track and focused on basketball, fans hoped.
It sounds like Rose wants to do much more than just help his teammates.
He wants to play hard, score, and remind the NBA world just how special he can be.
Rose only has a few more years left before retirement but he still wants to make an impact.
